Matthew celebrated his first birthday on Friday, April 25th. We had a small celebration because we having the bigger one in Salt Lake City next week. Matthew celebrated by going to McDonalds for one of his little friends birthday party. His friend, Sarah, turned 2 the day before. (she is one of the kids Kjer babysits). He also got to go to the doctors office to check for an ear infections. 3 ear infections already this winter. Luckily he didn't have one. Then we surprised his brother Daniel at school to help him cleanout his desk and get organized. Next it was off to Walmart to choose a couple of presents for Matthew. He got a walker wagon and a musical basketball hoop. Loves them both. You have to watch the attached video. Home it was to have pizza and cake. It was very nice 1st birthday.

Fathers and Sons

April 18-19 was our wards father and sons campout at Oak Flats Campground. It was about 50 miles of Phoenix. Locates on top of some of Arizona's biggest coppermines. David, Daniel, and James attended. We were able to break in some of our camping equiptment. On Saturday morning we went for a hike to see some indian rock art and search for arrowheads. The night was very cold. Even in the Mummy Bags. As a side note - Kjerstina and Rachel hosted a girls night at our house. It went very well. Lots of chit chat and a sleepover for Rachel. Matthew just loved the attention he was getting from Everyone

My Dad!

I am posting a special post this week. About 10 days ago I was reminded that it has been 25 years since my father passed away. I remember that dreadful day so vividly and it stirs up some very difficult emotions to deal with. Because, he was a very kind, special, and loving dad. I have some of my fondest memories because of him and who we was. The very thoughts of him help guide me and how I deal with my wife and children. Although he died, he his death gave me an additional blessing. I had got the oppurtunity to have a second father in my life. Even though Dirk and I didn't always see eye to eye, he taught me tons and he loved me. For this I am thankful for. So Dad, I love you and miss you and always will. You have given me so much in the short time you were apart of my life on earth, but that time will live with me forever.

School/Spring Break

Spring Break is now over. Kids go back to school tomorrow. One more quarter to finish the year. Once again Rachel got Straight A's as usual. Three Straight quarters. David and Daniel do very well when they put their minds to it and turn in the paperwork.
